Assessment Overview:
DB FPX 8400 Assessment 1: explores ontological modesty—the understanding that no one perceives reality exactly as it is—and its connection to cognitive isolation and business model invention (BMI). It emphasizes the part of cognition in shaping innovative business models, integrating knowledge, and addressing environmental challenges. Crucial generalities include system geste, mortal geste, nebulosity, hypotheticals, impulses, and the significance of organizational redesign to support BMI. Ethical exploration practices and decision-making in business scripts emphasize practical counteraccusations.
How to Pass DB FPX 8400 Assessment 1 Ontological Humility
- Define the “Map vs. Territory”: Use the core of Ontological Humility to explain that your business data and perceptions are just representations, not reality itself.
- Apply George Kelly’s Theory: When discussing Cognitive Differentiation, mention how having more “constructs” (ways of seeing the world) allows a manager to be more flexible during a crisis.
- Address the Three BMI Situations: Clearly distinguish between System Behavior (the machine), Human Behavior (the people), and Ambiguity (the unknown). Failure in BMI often occurs when a leader ignores one of these three.
- Justify Redesign Sequence: In your argument for organizational redesign, explain that a new “engine” (BMI) cannot run in an old “chassis” (outdated structure).
- Differentiate Aspirational vs. Core Values: In BMI, ensure the “Value Proposition” aligns with the company’s actual operational capabilities.
- Understand “Double Publishing”: Explain that academic integrity isn’t just about “rules”; it’s about ensuring that data isn’t “double-counted,” which could lead to false conclusions in business research.
- Navigate the Dueling Managers: In the hiring scenario, look for Implicit Bias. Are you favoring a candidate because of their “prestige” or “achievements” rather than their fit for the specific BMI task?
- Use the “Ambiguity” Concept: Don’t view confusion as a negative. In the context of Egfjord & Sund (2020), ambiguity is where the most radical innovations are often found.
- Link Ethics to ROI: Argue that ethical research and honest publishing build long-term organizational Trust, which is a competitive advantage.
- Refine Your Citations: Ensure you cite Egfjord & Sund (2020) for BMI perceptions and the APA Manual (2020) for publishing guidelines.
Sample Assessment:
Ontological Humility Cognitive Differentiation
Cognitive isolation refers to the number of different confines of meaning or particular constructions. Several studies on Business Model Innovation (BMI) have shown that cognition plays a pivotal part in enabling or limiting similar inventions (Egfjord & Sund, 2019). In this environment, BMI is an effective way to address environmental challenges. BMI involves refining the creation of value and benefits by simultaneously and inversely adjusting both the company’s value proposition for customers and its fundamental operating model.
The main benefit of BMI, whether it’s a living business model or the design and perpetration of a new bone, is that it identifies new value propositions for generating profit and changing new ways to produce and acquire value. Ontological modesty is the idea that none of us sees reality as it is. Ontological modesty accepts that there are three realities in ontology. Someone who practices ontological modesty elevates their reality in a way that respects themselves (Munro, 2020), but they also fear that it may involve misinformation that can change their understanding.
Cognition
Cognitive isolation refers to the range of significant factors or personal beliefs that an individual contributes to their understanding of the world. In this environment, BMI is an important system of managing environmental challenges. Cognitive isolation is deduced from Kelly’s Role Construct Repertory Test (Cherry, 2020), intended to elicit a representative sample of a person’s generalities and to survey the authoritative parcels of these developed confines.
Cognitive integration is associated with styles of breeding knowledge. The term emphasizes the importance of integrating both the implicit and explicit aspects of academic effort and their depth in generating new knowledge, leading to enhanced understanding and appreciation of tone (Nurgaleeva, 2015).
Cognition involves cerebral processes associated with acquiring knowledge and understanding. These intellectual processes include logic, knowing, recalling, judging, and problem-solving. These are advanced-position functions of the brain and include language, imagination, perception, and planning (Nurgaleeva, 2015).
The author of the composition “Do You See” uses perception to propose that a business model can be considered a form of intellectual design (Egfjord & Sund, 2019). Several studies of BMI have indicated that appreciation plays a part in enabling or confining similar development. At the core of BMI failure, there might be differences in perceptivity that feel natural but are generally notable. There are three situations in the intellectual achievement system: geste, mortal geste, and nebulosity. System geste is the interdependence of corridors and systems (Egfjord & Sund, 2019). Mortal gesture is commerce between different individuals and groups. Nebulosity refers to the questioning of emerging issues, as well as the resulting lack of understanding and confusion. These generalities or situations of integration are essential for handling BMI rightly; else, it’ll fail.
DB FPX 8400 Assessment 1: Business Model Innovation
Business model invention is the art of perfecting and adding value by making concurrent and inversely probative changes to both a company’s value offer to guests and its abecedarian operation model (Wirtz & Daiser, 2018). This is a significant topic in management and business operations. The main advantage of BMI is its capability to identify new value propositions for generating profit and creating value, which can be seen as an effort to change or create and execute a new business model (Wirtz & Daiser, 2018).
Assumption and Organization Redesign
One supposition I would make is whether the other business operates with the same assiduity as mine. Different diligence must operate in specific ways. The assiduity I’m in may not be the same as theirs. This assumption is important because it is similar to Walmart sharing its business model with McDonald’s; the two companies operate in distinct sectors. Should organizational redesign antecede BMI? (Egfjord & Sund, 2019). I believe it should. A trial phase, which serves to design, estimate, and test different business models or options, is suggested. Since Business Model Innovation (BMI) focuses on perfecting and adding value, organizational redesign should occur before implementing BMI.
Accommodation of BMI
Is an association formerly designed to accommodate an unborn BMI more likely to be successful at enforcing radical BMI ideas? (Egfjord & Sund, 2019). No, because the success of the business isn’t guaranteed. A BMI is supposed to come after the business is over and running for a certain period. However, if a BMI is created before the association, it may be based on incorrect assumptions. Anything can change at any moment, and if you formerly created a BMI before the association, you might have to go back and produce a new one. This process is analogous to a relationship; you don’t know if it’s going to be successful, so why plan in advance?
Ontological Humility
Double distribution can be defined as the publication of a paper that significantly overlaps with one formerly published on paper or electronic media. The practice of indistinguishable publications is considered unethical because it misrepresents findings, wastes the time of editors, peer pundits, and compendiums, and breaches the integrity of wisdom. Binary publishing can begin with multiple sessions (APA, 2020). Binary publishing can be defined as “the submission of a paper to a journal that’s contemporaneously under review by another publication. ” Authors should only submit original work that has neither appeared elsewhere for publication nor is under review for another refereed publication. Guidelines for authors of numerous journals contain restrictions on binary submission. Compendiums of clinical journals have the right to trust that what they’re reading is original unless there’s a clear explanation that the author and editor are purposefully contributing a composition for notable reasons (ICMJE, 2021).
The foundations of this position are global intellectual property laws, moral integrity, and the wise use of coffers. Duplicate publication of original exploration is especially problematic because it can result in accidental double-counting of data or indecorous weighting of the results of a single study, distorting the available substantiation. Double publishing remains one of the least understood forms of publishing misconduct and negatively impacts the exploration community. Establishing clear guidelines and adequately training inferior experimenters is essential. According to the authors of the ontological modesty composition “Exploring Epistemic Wisdom,” this composition was written for a conference. According to the APA 7 primer, jottings preliminarily released in conference proceedings can be issued again in an extensively circulated venue (APA, 2020). I would not consider double publishing because it’s illegal and tricky regarding publication.
Dueling Managers Scenario
Ontological modesty is the idea that none of us perceives reality as it is. Did I feel that the way the script was structured was designed to produce false hypotheticals? I don’t suppose it was designed to produce false hypotheticals. Still, the way it was articulated or presented is likely why those hypotheticals were made. However, I believe the outcome would change if different data were used. One assumption I can make is that the reason for hiring someone might be related to their race.
One bias I might have is if that person has more advanced business achievements than I do. However, I would develop a negative bias toward their business if they had more significant achievements than I do. Another bias might be regarding the success of their business compared to mine. However, I may be poisoned towards the way they run their business if their business performs better than mine. To become a better businessperson, I must avoid these biased opinions by refraining from comparing my business to others and recognizing that each business is unique with its own business model indicators (BMIs), making comparisons unnecessary.
Conclusion
In conclusion, having a business model invention is a pivotal factor for a business to establish. Having an invention department in your company can help it grow. Still, for it to work, everyone should come together. The papers I read did a competent job of explaining issues that companies may encounter. Although exploration is ongoing in this area, there’s enough information available to provide a thorough understanding of how it works. I believe that ontological modesty holds true when we consider whether our perception of reality reflects its actual state. The importance of our perception stems from how we’re raised. If you run a business and are impractical about its success, you might incur additional charges instead of achieving a total profit.
