DB FPX 8620 Assessment 4 Business Project Idea: Developing a Business Study

Assessment Overview:

DB FPX 8620 Assessment 4: proposes a qualitative business study to examine how leaders manage resistance to digital metamorphosis. It selects the Prosci ADKAR abstract frame, justifies the design’s need, outlines methodology (qualitative inquiry), identifies mate associations, and presents design questions, asked issues, and a primary plan.

How to Pass DB FPX 8620 Assessment 4 Business Project Idea: Developing a Business Study

  1. Differentiate the Frameworks: Be clear on the difference between a Theoretical Framework (based on established academic theory) and a Conceptual Framework (your logical map of variables). Your choice of the Conceptual Framework is ideal for practical problem-solving.
  2. Why ADKAR? Focus on the specific stages:
    • Awareness: Do leaders know why change is happening?
    • Desire: Do they want to support it?
    • Knowledge: Do they know how to lead it?
    • Ability: Can they implement it?
    • Reinforcement: Can they make it stick?
  3. Refine the “Gap in Practice”: Don’t just say change is hard. State that the specific gap is the lack of training for leaders to manage the human side of digital shifts.
  4. Craft Powerful Project Questions: Ensure your questions are open-ended. Instead of asking “Is training good?” ask “What are leaders’ perspectives on the strategies that have successfully reduced resistance?”
  5. Focus on the “Critical Incident” Technique: This is a strong qualitative method. It asks participants to recall a specific event where they faced resistance and how they handled it, providing rich, real-world data.
  6. Justify Your Industry Partners: Explain why Gartner or CCL is relevant. For example, Gartner’s focus on “Actionable Insight” aligns with your goal of creating a roadmap for leaders.
  7. The “Desired State” Logic: Describe a future where leaders are not just “bosses” but Change Agents who can empathetically navigate staff through technical disruptions.
  8. Address the “Loss of Productivity”: Connect the human problem of resistance directly to the business bottom line (e.g., staff turnover and lost ROI on digital investments).
  9. Methodological Rigor: Even though this is a proposal, use doctoral-level terms like “Qualitative Inquiry,” “Inductive Analysis,” and “Triangulation” to show you are ready for advanced research.
  10. Reflective Alignment: In your author note, show how your background (Healthcare/BSN leadership) informs your understanding of “resistance,” as medical professionals often face similar hurdles when adopting new HIT (Health Information Technology).

Sample Assessment:

Preliminary Project Frameworks

Godfrey (2019) states that an exploration design frame provides the beginning structure or model to support collaborative exploration sweats. An exploration design frame helps identify different scripts and knitter approaches and styles consequently. The design frame is descriptive; it shouldn’t explain any generalities that could impact an outgrowth. The design frame could be necessary in helping a business overcome a problem and shrink the gap in practice.

Methodology Framework

According to Dew (2007), the methodology frame refers to the principles underpinning exploration approaches distinct from styles that collect data. Methodology determines the system for experimenters to produce data for analysis. McMeekin et al. (2020) suggest that the benefits of using methodological fabrics are decreasingly honored, but there’s no formal description of a methodological frame. This would not be the favored system because, to date, there’s no published guidance on how to develop one.

Conceptual Framework

Farhat (2022) states that the abstract frame comprises a primary ideal and abecedarian generalities. This frame ties to the design of how leaders apply the change associated with digital metamorphosis and the changes that stakeholders must embrace to continue business operations in a digital business effectively. The abstract frame focuses on three guiding constructs: inquiry, action, and advocacy. The benefit of an abstract frame is that it should be easier to issue a coherent set of norms and rules. The problem is practical, so the abstract frame will allow the problem to be answered snappily.

Conceptual Framework

Theoretical Framework

Grant and Osanloo (2014) describe the theoretical frame as the foundation on which all knowledge is constructed directly and literally for an exploration study. The theoretical frame is the structure and support explanation for the study, problem statement, purpose, significance, and the exploration question.

This frame ties to the design of how leaders apply the change associated with digital metamorphosis and the changes that stakeholders must embrace to continue business operations in a digital business effectively. The theoretical frame provides a grouping base or anchor for the literature review and the analysis system. Basically, a theoretical frame is deduced from a being proposition. Because this frame is grounded on a being proposition, it isn’t the preferred frame for the proposed design. The theoretical frame addresses the following questions:

  • What do we suppose or feel about the miracle being studied?
  • Do we seek to explain, describe, interpret, notice, support, or read?
  • What might be the consequences of doing such work? Theoretical Framework Example Image Credit: A. (2022, February 4). Examples of Theoretical Framework in Qualitative Research. Tutorsploit.

Tutorsploit Selected Framework

The frame that stylishly fits the proposed design is the abstract frame.

Three Potential Frameworks

Effective Change Management Framework

Image Credit: Wudaru, S. R. (2020, September 20). Change Management Framework – The PHD journals. Medium. Medium

Key Concepts:

This frame is erected on five generalities. Concept 1 is balance change; why does the company want to make the change? The alternate conception is influence, which focuses on what areas need to be changed. The third conception is process and pace, fastening on where the energy comes from for change. The fourth conception is communication, specifically how to communicate the strategy. The fifth conception is leadership, specifically who should oversee the change.

Framework Alignment:

In the proposed design, the general business problem is that leaders aren’t adequately trained to deal with resistance to change, resulting in staff not being duly guided and navigated through functional changes. The practice gap is that leadership doesn’t know how to deal with workers impacted by change duly.

This frame aligns directly with the proposed design because each conception is needed to address the problem of leaders not knowing how to deal with change. By using this conception, it’ll help in furnishing feasible answers and coffers to help leaders in dealing with change, specifically with addressing each of the generalities in the frame.

Cavendish Wood Change Management Framework

Cavendish Wood Key Concepts:

This frame is erected on six generalities. The first conception is to identify what needs to change. The alternate conception is to assess how this change will take place. The third conception is to prepare the association for change. The fourth conception is to communicate the change. The fifth conception is to apply the change. The final conception is to estimate the change.

This frame is verily analogous to the Effective Change Management Framework except that it includes an evaluation.

Prosci ADKAR Framework

Image Credit: Mullen, C. (2020, August 13). A 5-Step Framework for Managing Organizational Change. The Workforce Institute at UKG. The Workforce Institute Key Concept This frame has five generalities. The first conception is mindfulness, which requires the company to admit that change is necessary. The alternate conception is the desire to share in and support the change. The third conception is knowledge of what’s changing. The fourth conception is the capability to apply required chops and actions. The final conception is the underpinning to sustain the change.

This frame is veritably analogous to the Effective Change Management and the Cavendish Wood Change Management Frameworks except that it includes the desire for the company to answer the “why” through change.

Selected Framework

The frame that stylishly aligns with the proposed design is the Prosci ADKAR Framework. This frame has the generalities needed to address the gap and offer results for leaders not knowing how to deal with resistance to change. This frame is preferred because all stakeholders must have the desire for change.

The knowledge generalities identify all of the changes and keep all stakeholders well informed on the process. Incipiently, it includes the conception of underpinning. Through underpinning, what’s going well and what else we can do will be addressed, allowing the association to upgrade the change trouble and look for signs of success.

Preliminary Project Plan

fashion 1 Qualitative inquiry to explore the stations, comprehensions, or provocations of leaders as to dealing with resistance to change.

Indispensable Fashion: An indispensable fashion for this design is the critical path system. Slate (2022) defines the critical path system as a resource application algorithm for cataloging a set of design conditions. The critical path system will include all tasks needed to complete the design, the dependencies between the tasks, and an estimate of time for each exertion to be completed. This design fashion would fit the proposed design and allow the experimenter to completely answer the design question and would be corroborated by tasks in this fashion that can not be finished until others are finished.

Reflection on Project Alignment

In probing implicit associations that aligned with the proposed design, the following hunt terms were used: “exploration associations for leading digital metamorphosis.” The first association set up was the Institute for Management Development. IMD’s Global Exploration Center was established in 2015 and is the colonist in stylish practice exploration on digital metamorphosis (IMD, 2022). IMD is directly aligned with the proposed design because it offers coffers directly related to digital metamorphosis. The alternate association linked is the Center for Leadership (CCL).

CCL is an ideal mate to align with the proposed design because they specifically concentrate on leadership collectively, within a platoon, and in an association’s development. The final association linked was Gartner. Gartner is the leading provider of exploration results that target practicable, objective sapience to directors and brigades. Gartner would be an ideal mate for the proposed design because they have over 40 years of experience in the areas of rigorous personal exploration, expert guidance, tools, and peer networks (Gartner, 2022). The

The Institute for Management Development, the Center for Leadership, and Gartner would be ideal associations to support the proposed design because each of the three associations offers exploration, tools, and coffers directly related to leadership development and digital metamorphosis.

Organization Agenda Relevant Alignment Institute for Management Development:

An independent academic institution. Faculty and exploration brigades publish papers, case studies, books, and reports on a wide range of motifs, including digital metamorphosis. The Global Center for Digital Business Transformation provides fresh perceptivity and substantiation—grounded advice to help associations successfully navigate their digital metamorphosis peregrinations. Strong focus on operation and contemporary practices. cooperative openings with assiduity leaders fastening on invention and new growth (IRI, 2022).

Center for Leadership:

CCL’s charge is to advance the understanding, practice, and development of leadership for the benefit of society worldwide. Leadership concentrates on positive digital transformative charge. CCL uses an exploration-grounded approach. Individual, platoon, and organizational leadership results (CCL, 2022).

Gartner:

Gartner, Inc., is a technological exploration and consulting establishment grounded in Stamford, Connecticut, that conducts exploration on technology and shares this exploration both through private consulting as well as administrative programs and conferences (Gartner, 2022). Personal exploration methodologies. A global platoon of more than 200 exploration and premonitory experts. Peer networks, training, and development in the areas of leadership (Gartner, 2022).

Revised: Introduction

Digital metamorphosis is a dynamic element of business operations. Kraus et al. (2021) state that globalization has forced adding pressure on businesses to change. A part of this change includes changes to the traditional business models. Businesses must integrate digital metamorphosis into their business strategy to thrive in competitive surroundings and requests. Digital metamorphosis requires a change to the business model. Most importantly, digital metamorphosis requires acceptance of change from crucial internal stakeholders for the digital strategy to operate effectively and efficiently.

Beer et al. (2016) suggest that without proper training on combating change, learning a new task doesn’t lead to better overall performance because people will soon return to their old way of doing things. This design aims to identify how leaders apply the change associated with digital metamorphosis and the changes that stakeholders must embrace to effectively continue business operations in a digital business.

This study is imperative to advancing digital metamorphosis for leadership who witness change resistance. This design aims to address resistance to change and how leadership can overcome these challenges to introduce and apply a digital strategy successfully.

Problem of Practice

In exploration from the Expert Panel, Forbes Trainers Council (2019), if an association finds that its leaders no longer have influence over their people, a gap exists. The general business problem is that leaders aren’t duly trained to deal with resistance to change, resulting in staff not being duly guided and navigated through functional changes.

The result of this adversity to change can beget a loss of product and profit for the company. The specific business problem is that leaders warrant the pivotal training needed to deal with resistance to change from workers, resulting in loss of productivity and high staff development.

Rehman et al. (2021) note that enforcing change is one of the biggest problems an association faces. Without proper training, leaders won’t be suitable to navigate through the resistance to change from workers who sweat doing a new commodity. Viki (2018) describes the mortal walls to digital metamorphosis as a tendency for people to do nothing or remain unchanged with the strange home introduced by digital strategy. Another mortal hedge that can support resistance to change is mistrustfulness.

The mistrustfulness is corroborated by the belief that the change can not do and won’t be effective. Considering recent global events, digital metamorphosis was an unknown immediate change needed by businesses to remain competitive. With the change came immediate resistance from workers. Workers were forced to fleetly abandon their old way of operating and grasp digital metamorphosis. Workers’ resistance to change can be described as a methodical miracle associated with digital change and metamorphosis. Newman (2018) noted that company culture is the most significant hedge to digital metamorphosis.

Gap in Practice

McKendrick (2021) suggests that leadership understanding the need for change is imperative to stay competitive. The practice gap is that leadership doesn’t know how to duly deal with workers impacted by change. The professional gap in practice is that organizational leaders aren’t effectively exercising digital metamorphosis strategies to manage change (Rehman et al., 2021).

By leadership not having the proper training to address hand enterprises about changes with digital metamorphosis, staff repel the change. Appelbaum (2015) notes that associations must fleetly evolve to support digital metamorphosis, ranging from minor adaptations to radical metamorphosis. In fleetly enforcing the digital strategy, leadership isn’t adequately trained to deal with resistance to change.

The Desired State

The asked state is that leadership will be adequately trained to navigate the hands-on experience during ages of change. Lundy (2013) set up that an engaging leadership style, developed through training, effectively reduces resistance to change.

Purpose of the Project and Project Question

This design aims to better understand the challenges leaders face regarding resistance to digital invention. Additionally, it seeks to examine the training that leaders receive before implementing changes to address internal resistance. The subject of leadership challenges and resistance to change is broad. This design will develop a qualitative exploration study focusing on leadership challenges, training, and resistance to change in the plant.

Qualitative Inquiry

The purpose of this qualitative inquiry design is to explore leaders’ perspectives on new ways and strategies for addressing resistance to change in the pool.

Project Questions

  • What are leaders’ perspectives regarding their styles of learning new leadership ways?
  • What are leaders’ perspectives on strategies that have been successful in managing resistance to change?
  • What are leaders’ perspectives on strategies that haven’t been successful in managing resistance to change?

Preliminary Terms and Definitions

  • Digital Transformation A foundational change in how a business delivers value to its guests (Boulton, 2021).
  • Digital Innovation The use of digital technology and operations to enhance a business’s pool performance, client experience, and the preface of products and services that diverge from the traditional business model (Erdem, 2021).
  • Digital Strategy The operation of digital technologies to business models to produce new, securing business capabilities (Reyes, 2020).

Why This Project Is Needed

Yukl (2008) set up that a range of leadership actions, operation programs, structural forms, and external enterprise impact the performance of determinants that leaders can control to manage and navigate organizational effectiveness. This design is necessary to help associations understand how leaders navigate change and address the gap where leaders warrant the chops to manage change effectively.

The gap in leadership practice, where leaders aren’t adequately trained to help workers navigate digital metamorphosis, could negatively impact business operations. Rehman et al. (2021) suggested that fresh exploration should probe the goods of confines on resistance to change to develop a more robust frame regarding the antecedents and issues of change operation.

The open-ended design questions are as follows: This qualitative exploration design aims to explore the challenges leaders face when introducing change in the plant. What training have you entered on effectively dealing with resistance to change? Answering these questions will help businesses gain a better understanding of the challenges leaders face when change is introduced into traditional business models. The study’s outgrowth will give perceptivity into the advantages and disadvantages of training leaders to manage resistance to change and offer a roster or roadmap to help other businesses avoid risks related to inadequate training.

Author Note – Reflection on Alignment

The general problem with enforcing a digital strategy is resistance to change. The practice gap is that leadership isn’t adequately trained to help workers navigate digital metamorphosis. The issues of this study will be significant for all business areas where leadership directs systems and precedents.

The problem is that the gap in practice, purpose, and design questions are all aligned with the thing of aiding leaders as they navigate resistance to change in the plant. The connection between the problem of shy training for managing resistance to change and the gap in practice of organizational leaders not effectively exercising digital metamorphosis strategies is critical. Relating these areas will help unborn leaders understand the consequences of shy training and address the practice gap.
